The body defends the idea that it is essential that innovative and growing economies, societies inclusive practices and strengthening of cultures by opening them up are present within the Social.
It is important to remember that ICF is a non-profit entity, focusing 100% on development and social well-being.
Through the analysis of cities that adopt the Community Accelerator Strategy, the ICF builds the ranking of the smartest.
The strategy consists of applying six factors that have proven to help in the economic and social development (health, culture and inclusion) of a given location. They are: knowledge work, innovation, sustainability, digital inclusion, community engagement and connectivity.

2. The presence of Brazilian cities in the ranking
While the Paraná cities of Assaí and Ponta Grossa make their debut on the list, Curitiba already has a practically captive position. The capital of Paraná has been among the smartest cities in the world since 2019, that is, appearing for the fifth consecutive year.
One of the main factors responsible for Curitiba's presence in the ranking is Vale do Pinhão, an environment oriented exclusively to innovation.
