This Friday (10), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will announce the readjustment in values of school lunches at the Planalto Palace during a meeting with municipal ministers ace 3pm. The money, earmarked for state and municipal governments, complements the budget for student meals.
The federal government will readjust up to 39% federal government transfers for school lunches, benefiting 40 million public school students. Since 2017, the federal government transfers the amount of BRL 0.36 per student per day to states and municipalities for school meals in primary and secondary education, according to the Food Observatory School.
