In Brazil, bullying is something that is often taken lightly. The consequences of bullying can be devastating, for example for young people from generation Y, as many suffer with the remnants of bullying suffered in the past, which can cause damage to various aspects of professional life.
I know what that is, as I was also bullied at school. At the time, the whole school stopped talking to me, which was really hard to bear. The teachers knew what was going on, but they did nothing to help me. Unfortunately, this is a very common reality in Brazil.

I know that in other countries, like South Korea, bullying is taken much more seriously. There, the consequences for bullies are much more severe. Bullying results in more severe punishment, going straight to the student's record. They categorize bullying into 9 punishments, the most serious being expulsion. If in Brazil we adopted a similar system, students would know that this could be listed on their transcript, and even a mild case of violence could get him punished.
Brazil needs to take bullying more seriously. Schools and teachers need to act more energetically to combat this type of violence. This can help prevent more serious consequences in the future, such as mental health problems and even suicide.
We cannot allow this culture of bullying to continue to be tolerated in our schools. We must act now to ensure that future generations can grow up in a safe and healthy environment.
