Exploring Mean, Median, Shape, and Range with LEGO

When analyzing data, upper elementary students explore various ways of expressing the “central tendency” of their data set; that is, several ways to express mean.

When to find the average, arithmetic average, students quickly learn to add up all the data and then divide the total by the number of data points.

Tips for Teaching with LEGO
