The collection of products destined for auction belonged to Swiss professor Hanspeter Luzi, who died in 2015 as a result of a bicycle accident.
The collection called The Hanspeter Luzi Vintage Apple Archive was made available by the professor's family and will take place at the event The Apples, set to take place on March 30th, in the state of California, which will also provide an online exhibition of the auction.
The products are considered rare and they have parts with values that can reach R$100,000, as is the case of the Lisa I computer, from 1983. At the time, the device did not perform well in sales, but today it is considered an object of desire for collectors, with values ranging from R$50,000 to R$100,000.
In the catalog there are a multitude of pieces, such as the apple Macintosh Plus, which comes equipped with the original keyboard and mouse. For this object, the company Julien’s Auctions, designated to conduct the auction, established the value of R$1550.00 to R$2590.00.
The Macintosh Plus was introduced by Apple on January 16, 1986. At the time, the company was already manufacturing previous versions of Macintosh and launched the Plus model as an upgrade to computers already available on the market.
Among the rare items in the collection is the 1989 Macintosh Portable. The object, from Luzi's collection, is a demonstration item and its sale was prohibited.
Other items will also be auctioned on the 30th, such as the first motherboards produced by Apple, the Apple QuickTake, a digital camera launched in 1994, the Apple II Plus, from 1978, and a iMac G3, Apple's latest item, from the Blue Dalmatian edition.
