A Merchant Marine released the 2019 public notice with vacancies for free qualification courses all over the country. The courses are aimed at those who already work offshore or wish to enter the area at various levels of education.
The Merchant Navy has been highly sought after in Brazil, as it allows for a solid and promising career, with the possibility of an immediate start and ascension in the profession. The Merchant Marine can be divided into three branches: the commercial marine, which involves economic activities of passenger and cargo transport, the fishing navy and the recreational navy, dedicated to recreational activities.
The maritime professional who is qualified to operate vessels is called an Aquaviary. Those interested should take the Waterway Training Course (CFAQ), which is free and enables candidates to start a career in the Navy. This career is divided into two sections, Deck and Machines, divided into six groups, which are: seafarers, fluvial workers, fishermen, divers, pilots and maneuvering and docking agents.
CFAQ courses last an average of 7 months. To apply, you must be over 18 years old, have completed high school and be a native or naturalized Brazilian, in addition to presenting all the documents required by the Navy.
A career in the Merchant Marine has numerous advantages, such as: great salaries from the basic levels, the possibility to travel constantly and get to know several destinations in Brazil and in the world, many vacancies available for trained professionals, and a solid plan of career.
