The issue is that, often, such courses are expensive and professionals are not always able to afford these expenses. Therefore, numerous platforms provide free online courses in the field of Education.
Escola Educação brought a list of the best free specialization courses for teachers present on websites.
Integrated ProInfro
Provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), the National Program for Continuing Education in Educational Technology (ProInfro Integrado) aims to train teachers in the didactic use of technologies in the classroom classroom.
The project brings multimedia contents that streamline classes and teaching, integrating education and technology. ProInfro is linked to the offer of digital resources offered by TV and DVD School, Public Domain, Teacher's Portal and International Bank of Educational Objects.
Some of the courses offered are Technologies in Education, Introduction to Digital Education, Project Development and Learning Networks. Teachers and managers of public schools, as well as other educational agents responsible for the establishments, may participate.
Freire Platform
The platform was created in 2009 and since then has trained teachers through Distance Learning.
The system is powered through a partnership with more than 70 institutions that offer degree courses free of charge.
Media in Education
Provided by the MEC, it is aimed at distance education and its modular structure provides continuous training. The modules allow the use of information and communication technologies, such as video and TV.
Learning is divided into three levels of certification, basic, intermediate and advanced. The cycles are, respectively, 120h, 180h and 360h long.
Open University of Brazil (UAB)
The content offered by Universidade Aberta is provided through the integration of public university systems. The institutions make available, completely free of charge, content included in specializations and higher education courses at a distance.
By allowing interaction between government spheres, the UAB works as a tool for universalizing access to higher education, in addition to teaching qualifications throughout the country.
Some of the national courses included in the platform are the National Public Administration Training Program (PNAP) and the Drug Abuse Prevention Course (PREVINA).
Teacher Support
This is a project arising from the partnership between Unesco and the Phorte Educação Institute. The courses are free and allow each teacher to choose the one they want to take, as well as their modules.
The New Technologies for Learning in High School and Elementary School course, for example, issues a certificate. There are four modules arranged in 12 hours each.
The website also highlights the “courses of the month”, such as the Curriculum Matrix in the Universal Learning Design Vision. This, too, issues a certificate with a workload of 20 hours.
Open Unesp
The State University of São Paulo (Unesp) provides, on its website, free content that can be used by teachers in training or who want to improve their knowledge.
The portal does not provide certificates, as these are free courses. However, users can use videos, texts and activities in the classroom.
Examples of available courses: Ethics and Citizenship, Emotion, Perception and Creativity, Comprehension and Oral Production in English.
Coursera
The platform has a partnership with more than 130 educational institutions that offer a set of approximately 1,500 courses. Some interesting ones for the school area are Strategic Management,
The user has access to several of them in Portuguese divided into categories. Just an observation: to be certified, you need to pay for the course. However, there is the option to attend classes as a listener. In this case, access to evaluation activities is not allowed.
Veducate
Like Coursera, Veduca has courses for issuing a certificate, however, it allows the user to watch the course for free. It just won't be "worth hours".
Some are very interesting, such as Teacher Training: Newspaper in the classroom. The duration of the courses varies according to the chosen option.
eAula USP
The site brings disciplines taught in graduations at USP. If you are not part of the internal community, just create a registration to access the organization of playlists and other tools.
When registering, the user is already able to mark the areas of interest, including Pedagogy. It is worth remembering that there is no issue of certificates or tutorials.
Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV)
One of the most respected teaching institutions in the country offers courses aimed at teachers who wish to improve. Courses are easy, dynamic and well-structured, with content taught from 30 to 60 hours and lasting from nine to 16 weeks.
In addition, the platform allows interaction with professionals in the same area. In Education, one of the courses available is Era Vargas: from Estado Novo to 54.
Prime Courses – Special Education
The content provided by the platform is aimed at educators who want to improve the teaching of special children.
The course is free with valid certificate option. In the presentation, the user will be able to verify the syllabus covered, in addition to the objectives of the classes.
Learn Café
The site offers more than 263 free online courses with certificate issuance. In the Education area, there are several categories made available to the user, such as Social Mobilization, Youth and Adult Education, in addition to Distance Learning.
In each subcategory, courses on Communication and Education, The meaning of colors, Libras for beginners, Pedagogy of Autonomy, among others. On average, courses last one hour.
Bradesco Foundation
The platform in partnership with the Virtual School brings numerous free online courses, including in the field of Education. Some of them are Teaching with the Web and Introduction to eLearning.
iPED Courses
The platform has options for paid courses, however, the user has access to several free courses in the area of Education and Pedagogy. The interesting thing is that some of them bring the evaluation of students who have already taken them.
Courses are available such as Ludic Activities: theater, dance and music; Introduction to the Inclusion of Children with Down Syndrome; ABNT Standards for Academic Papers.
