cases of assaults on teachers of the São Paulo state public network grew, alarmingly, in 2018. In an article reported by Portal G1, figures collected by Globonews show that, in the first quarter of this year, 64 cases have already been registered, against 251 throughout 2017.
If compared with data from the same period in previous years, the numbers become even more worrying. In 2014, the first quarter registered 51 cases. In the following three years, the records were 38, 40 and five occurrences, until last year. This is because, 2017, was considered as the one with the highest number of aggressions.

Over the 12 months, as already mentioned, the total was 251 recorded attacks, the highest rate since 2014. However, the number raised by the School Occurrence Registry (ROE) shows that, in 2018, more than a quarter of occurrences were already detected, considering the previous year.
The ROE is an online tool that makes it possible to record disciplinary and criminal occurrences in the school environment. The data are entered by the directors of each educational institution through the portal of the Secretary of Education of the State of São Paulo (SEE SP). The Folder manifested itself regarding the data collected.
In a note sent to G1, SEE SP states that the state is “a pioneer in tackling teacher-student relationship issues, creating in 2009 the School Protection System”. The system provides support manuals and mediating teachers with guidance on how to deal with the topic.
As for the data, the Ministry claims to represent “0.03% of the total number of professors in the State of São Paulo and this is not data statistics since the ROE - School Occurrences Record is an internal record mechanism of the Secretary of Education of the State". On the same note, SEE SP stressed supporting the enhancement of the teaching career.
At this point, he recalled the appointment of 2,165 teachers approved in a public tender, in addition to guaranteeing an increase in the remuneration of 33,000 professionals included in the School Support Framework (QAE). It is enough, then, to wait for the measures to take effect and for the teacher x student relationship to really be one of mutual learning.
