Do you know what the BNCC (National Common Curriculum Base)? It is a document that regulates the teaching networks regarding the elaboration of school curricula and pedagogical proposals for the stages of early childhood and fundamental education. Last year, changes in its structure were approved by the Temer government, with only the part related to secondary education remaining to be finalized.
As a result, schools have until 2020 to comply with the new requirements. And if you couldn't clearly answer the question we asked at the beginning of the article, don't worry! Many managers and educators still have doubts about the document and, therefore, find it difficult to apply it in their institutions. Well, a very useful tool was developed to help you in this important task: a free digital guide!

The BNCC Digital Guide: Building a comprehensive education curriculum was prepared by the Ayrton Senna Institute, an NGO created by the family of the Brazilian Formula 1 driver. Using simple and easy-to-understand language, the site brings all the explanations relevant to the document, including its main functions, what is the school curriculum, concepts of the integral school and how the BNCC can be structured.
The good news is that the guide is free and can be accessed easily by smartphones and computers. It contains the ten basic skills that must be worked on with the student in Basic Education, accompanied by analyzes relating them to emotional skills. And, if the institution's curriculum has already been written, the manager can use the site to review some concepts, if necessary.
The content is treated in a simple way, with the use of infographics, videos and texts. Right on the home page, the user sees the complete menu of the material, including “the importance of the text introduction and its structure", the student's view of the BNCC, curricular integration, among other subjects relevant to the topic. To clear your doubts about the document and prepare your school's curriculum using the tool, just click here.
Still on the subject, the Ministry of Education (MEC) was the mediator of an exchange promoted with managers and articulators of the Councils of the Support Program for the Implementation of the National Common Curricular Base (ProBNCC). The meetings took place on the 9th and 10th of October, always held at the School of Finance Administration, Esaf, located in Brasília.
The objective was to bring together those involved in the elaboration and approval of the reference curricula in each state, in addition to encourage the exchange of experiences on the strategies used in the approval of documents in the councils of education. According to the director of curricula and comprehensive education at the Secretariat of Basic Education (SEB) of the MEC, Raph Gomes Alves, the states have reached the stage of finalizing the curricula together with the municipalities.
Therefore, it is important that there is an exchange of information between its representatives to understand the initiatives taken in each region, with the aim of strengthening education systems. Raph recalls that some regional councils have created “a provisional (collaborative) instance in which curriculum documents will be analyzed. After that, an opinion will be issued that can be followed by the other education councils”.
During the meeting, participants were able to present the achievements achieved this year, in addition to the planning made for the coming months. In the programming, they also had round tables and workshops that dealt with the processes for the elaboration and approval of curricula, in addition to diagnoses and action plans regarding their implementation in States.
