PROHIBITED! 'Hunger Games' is not accepted in the US and justification divides opinions

Hunger Games outside the United States? Understand!

Books, at first glance, may seem harmless and are commonly linked to an ideal life practice, such as reading. However, not all works appeal to all audiences and many of them have already been banned from being sold.

With so many different people and books in the world, it is natural that there are different tastes and opinions.

Recently, a debate has arisen about the availability of certain books for purchase and the listing can make a lot of people worried, like the Hunger Games saga, for example.

This discussion involves diverse points of view and encompasses a wide range of people, and most of the time the subject receives severe criticism. Books, therefore, fulfill this important mission in shaping society itself – although there are real impediments.

The Hunger Games is banned in the US along with other books

In fact, it is surprising to see that the dystopian book “The Hunger Games”, written by Suzanne Collins, is among the banned books in the United States, along with many other titles.

Unfortunately, the prohibition of some books is not current and has happened throughout history, mainly in places where it involved the prohibition of criticism of the State.

This reality is deeply sad, since there are fans of the work and admirers, just as there are several people involved in the construction of a book – author, publisher, reviewer, etc.

Suzanne's film attracted a legion of admirers, so much so that the saga managed to be shown in theaters.

The list of banned books keeps growing steadily, seemingly endless. At the moment, “Hunger Games” is at the top of the list compiled by American Library Association.

Most of the books that are barred and prohibited on the list are considered sexually explicit or contain material related to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Other famous and widely known works are also present in this list. Some examples include: “Animal Farm”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “The Sun is for Everyone”, “The Advantages of Being Invisible", "Fahrenheit 451" and "1984", most of them being mainly responsible for criticism policies.

In Brazil, these titles are allowed and it is worth reading – critically and consciously – each of these classics!
