After the collapse of a dam belonging to the mining company Vale in Brumadinho (MG), the Inhotim Institute informed that, for safety reasons, it is evacuating the museum. “We are waiting for official information about the dam rupture”, informed the institute, through its profile on the social network Twitter.
With 14 hectares of visitation, the park, located in the municipality of Brumadinho, has one of the most important collections of contemporary art in the country, in addition to a collection of rare species from all continents.

Vale's tailings dam at Mina do Feijão broke earlier this afternoon (25). The first information indicates that the tailings reached the company's administrative area and part of the Vila Ferteco community.
“There is still no confirmation if there are any injuries at the scene. Vale called the Fire Department and activated its Emergency Response Plan for Dams,” said the mining company.
