A International Book Biennial São Paulo reaches its 25th edition with the strong presence of a genre that is gaining more and more strength among fans of good reading: young literature. With more than 300 invited authors, the event has a space reserved for several themes in the category, such as the discovery of love and pop culture.
Among those who have passed and will honor the Bienal, are names from Brazil and abroad that form long queues for autographs occupying the main space of the event, the BIC Cultural Arena. From the first weekend, authors such as Tessa Dare, Beth Reekles and Babi Dewet drew intense applause from a huge audience that filled the room.

Last weekend, The New York Times bestseller, Tessa Dare, and Beth Reekles, author of the work adapted for Netflix, A Barraca do Beijo, visited the Bienal on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday (06), it was the turn of Brazilian Babi Dewet, who started in literature based on interactive stories.
Babi commented on themes that are very present in teenage life, such as the growth of K-pop culture, musical genre from South Korea that was a source of inspiration for the book K-Pop, manual of survival. The work was written in partnership with Natália Pak and Érica Imenes, who also attended the event.
Babi's next visit to the Book Biennial will be on Friday (10) when she will talk about Turma da Mônica Jovem: an unexpected journey. In the chat, the other four authors of the book will be present and, of course, the creator of the most beloved class in Brazil, Maurício de Sousa.
Anyone who thinks that programming aimed at young literature stops there is very wrong! On the penultimate day of the event, August 11th, Victoria Aveyard arrives at the BIC Cultural Arena at 1:30 pm for a first appearance. But, the success of her book, Rainha Vermelha, made the organization open a new autograph session for the author.
Scheduled for Sunday (12), the extra space is already sold out! Closing the event, André Vianco, one of the biggest names in Brazilian fantastic literature, has a meeting scheduled to discuss the growth of fantasy stories in the country, joining other authors from gender.
The São Paulo International Book Biennial is in its 25th edition and, since the beginning, it has served as a stage for publishers, bookstores and distributors in the country to present their releases. With an annual public estimated at 700 thousand visitors, the event also has a program that covers culture, gastronomy, business and, of course, a lot of literature!
This year, the Biennial takes place at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion and ends on August 12th. Until Friday (10), visitation is made between 09:00 and 22:00, but with entry until 21:00. On weekends, hours change to 10am to 9pm allowing entry until 7pm. Tickets can be purchased from R$ 10.00 online.
