Mercosur signed an agreement to simplify the process of revalidating graduation diplomas awarded in its member countries. The agreement was signed at the 53rd Summit of Heads of State of Mercosur and Associated States. The revalidation will take place through documentary verification, with no need for specific academic evaluation analyses.
Thus, a graduation diploma obtained in Brazil, for example, will be valid in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, the other Mercosur countries. Reciprocity should apply between these four countries.

“The purpose of this agreement is the revalidation between the parties of the titles or diplomas at the undergraduate level that are valid official in the educational system of the part where they were obtained, according to its current legal framework of Higher Education", says part of the agreement. The application of validation can be done gradually by the countries and the principle of reciprocity must be adopted.
The courses included in the agreement are only those recognized in the Regional Accreditation System for Undergraduate Courses and Member States of Mercosur and Associated States (ARCU-SUR System). Associated states are also included in the agreement, provided they have signed the agreement that created the ARCU-SUR System. The associated states of Mercosur are currently Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname. The information is from Agência Brasil.
