There is a long story behind the scenes that reveals the care and concern a mother has for her children. Shima Sarkar is a housewife from the Kurpar area of Netrakona Township. Shima has two children, with Hridoy Sarkar, 18, the eldest. He cannot walk or talk and is dependent on his mother for many of his daily activities.

Shima always dreamed of educating Hridoy Sarkar. She was always with him and never tired of taking care of the boy.
She took the boy to primary school despite many obstacles. Recently, the photo of Shima Sarkar and her son has gained attention on social media. The image went viral and the BBC covered the story with particular attention.
The mother told The Asian Age: “I had a dream to educate my son even if he had special needs. Today my dream came true.”
Eventually, the boy was admitted to the University of Dhaka. This news made Netrokona residents proud. Furthermore, Hridoy Sarkar will gain assistance from the district authorities where he lives.
“The district administration will provide whatever Hridoy needs. Let's get him a wheelchair as soon as possible for smooth communication on the university campus."
