Bill No. 165/22 is being processed by the National Congress, whose main interest is to establish the income tax exemption for teachers. In this case, the proposal aims to ensure that there are better teaching conditions in Brazil, starting with encouraging teachers. After all, there is still a huge debate in the country about the need to value education professionals through government measures. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the proposal will be approved, which should happen soon, since it is in a conclusive nature.

For now, this bill still does not have a resolution, although it has some strength among congressmen and the class itself. However, it will still be necessary to go through the Education, Finance and Taxation Commission, and also the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission.
According to the author of the proposal, Deputy Rubens Otoni, from PT Goiás, issues related to the budget have an impact on the valuation of teaching. In this way, this would be a way to encourage the recognition of teachers at the national level, as well as a return for the exercise.
Therefore, the project does not seek to make a distinction between teachers, such as in relation to the level of education in which they work. In other words, from kindergarten teachers to doctoral level teachers in higher education institutions would be entitled to exemption. Likewise, there would be no salary distinction, as from the lowest to the highest salaries would receive the benefit.
In addition, there is also talk of the need to train new teachers in Brazil, a profession that is rejected by young professionals due to devaluation. Since low wages, low professional representation through national debates and the difficulties of exercise inhibit the desire to pursue this career. On the other hand, impartiality could be one more criterion to increase interest in the craft, especially among the new generation, which seeks more complete job opportunities.
