This Wednesday (6), the Ministry of Education (MEC) released the result of the selection process of the Unified Selection System (SISU). In all, more than 60,000 students were approved at public universities in the second half of 2022, with vacancies distributed in around 2,000 undergraduate courses. Even without being logged into the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education, it is also possible to check the number of vacancies for each modality (quota holders or non-quota holders), educational institutions, courses, shifts and grades cut.
Sisu is a Ministry of Education system in which public universities (federal, state or municipalities) provide vacancies disputed by those who took the last National High School Examination (ENEM). The process has two enrollments per year, which are made in February (first semester) and now in July (second semester).
If a student does not get a vacancy in the first semester, he can still enroll in Sisu 2022.2 and compete for courses. Overall, the selection processes have no difference, just some changes in the schedule.
For those who were approved among the 65,932 vacancies in the second semester, enrollments must be made between July 13th and 18th and candidates will also be able to join a waiting list. For this, they must be made directly at public universities, since the call itself will be made by each educational institution.
In total, of the 60,246 students, 37,149 (61.66%) were approved for their first course option, while the other 23,097 (38.34%) entered the second option indicated at the time of registration.
For those who are unable to qualify in the regular call, it is still possible to compete for other vacancies offered by Sisu. Therefore, from Wednesday (6), those who were not selected can join the program's waiting list until the final date for registration (18).
