In their criteria, conclusions were based on how fast the millionaire population grew over the past 10 years in major cities.

Beforehand, it is worth noting that the report ranked cities based on the consumption habits of more than 150,000 high net worth individuals, with greater emphasis on those with more than US$ 10 million (around R$ 49 million) in assets for investment.
That said, these are the ten richest cities in the world:
No big surprises, New York appears as the leader of the ranking. The report found that from 2012 to 2022, the city saw a staggering 40% growth in its population of high-income individuals. The region is home to around 340,000 millionaires, 724 centimillionaires and 58 billionaires.
The runner-up was Tokyo, in the Japan. According to the survey, the Japanese capital has a population of 290,300 high net worth individuals. The Asian city concentrates 250 centimillionaires and 14 billionaires.
However, there has been a 5% decline in high net worth population growth from 2012 to 2022. Even so, it still makes up 21% of Japan's millionaires.
Finally, rounding out the top three positions is California's Bay Area, which includes San Francisco and Silicon Valley. In this region live 285,000 high net worth individuals, in addition to 629 centimillionaires and 63 billionaires.
This region of California saw a 68% growth in its population of high net worth individuals from 2012 to 2022.
