In the 2nd quarter of 2023, the Nubank achieved a significant milestone by overtaking Banco do Brasil in number of bank customers. With a record of 77.7 million consumers with accounts, the digital bank had an increase of 4.4 million customers in just 3 months.
This notable achievement was disclosed by the Central Bank, which presented the data in the Complaints Ranking for the period.

With this noticeable growth, the virtual bank ranks 4th among traditional banks. Ahead is Caixa Econômica Federal, with 150.4 million customers; Bradesco, with 104.5 million and Itaú, with 99.9 million.
At the end of 2022, Nubank surprised by surpassing Santander Brasil in the volume of customers, reaching the 5th position in the ranking of the largest banks in the country.
This feat marked a standout moment for the digital bank, consolidating its position in the Brazilian financial scenario. Even with this advance, Nubank was still at a considerable distance from Itaú, with a difference of 22.2 million customers between the institutions.
