Research shows that drivers in São Paulo spend an average of 56 hours per year trapped in the Traffic in capital. Despite being a Brazilian protagonist in terms of difficult traffic jams, the city of São Paulo is not among the ten worst traffic jams in the world.

Brazilian cities with the worst traffic

In South America, the worst traffic is in Bogota, Colombia. In Brazil, besides São Paulo, Belo Horizonte (MG) is occupying the 49th place, with the driver spending 65 hours per year in traffic. In 191st position is the city of Porto Alegre (RS), closing the three Brazilian cities evaluated in the survey.

The worst congestion in the world is in London, where drivers spend 156 hours a year stuck in traffic jams. To elaborate the ranking, there are variables that influenced the positions: distance between the main stretches and the average speed to be in motion.

In first place with the worst traffic in the world is the capital of the United Kingdom, with the average speed in 16km/h at peak times, with drivers spending an average of 156 hours a year trapped in traffic jams. The average number of hours lost in queues of cars there does not even compare with the reality that Brazilians face on a daily basis.

Behind London, Chicago is in the ranking with 155 hours of congestion per year, and France's capital Paris is third with 138 hours per year. Check the list!
