The Ministry of Education (MEC) establishes a partnership with some foreign institutions that accept the application of the Enem score. In this sense, Portugal, England, France and Canada are some examples of countries that receive Brazilian students. However, it is worth noting that each university has its own schedule and conditions for acceptance.
Furthermore, it is possible that, in addition to the Enem score, it is also necessary for the student to participate in a local selection process. Therefore, before trying to apply, students should carry out research on the universities of interest. Understand a little more about entering higher education outside the country.
The country has established an agreement with the MEC since 2014, where there are 34 universities that accept students through the Brazilian exam score. Among them are the famous institutions of Coimbra and Algarve, but there may be a second phase in some situations.
In England, before starting the courses, those approved by the Enem score go through a “training” that lasts for one year in the Foundation Year, so that they can improve their English spoken and written.
Furthermore, during this period, students are also taught about research methodologies and directed studies. After that, one also has to go through an admission process to join the desired institution.
In France, the result of the Enem only serves to prove that the student has passed the desired course at a Brazilian university recognized by the MEC. That is, to be admitted to a French university, it is first necessary to be approved in Brazil. In addition, other requirements are a good academic record and spoken and written fluency in French.
The University of Toronto is another institution that accepts the Enem score and the high school diploma for admission to several courses. In addition, the selection process also requires the student to have a certificate of proficiency in English issued by the Duolingo English Test, TOEFL or IELTS.
