Don't miss the deadline: see IPTU payment dates in SP

The City Hall of São Paulo recently released the dates reserved for the payments of Urban Property and Land Tax (IPTU) during the year 2023. According to the schedule, the first installment or the cash payment for all the properties will mature during the month of February, so you have to be careful.

On the other hand, if there is a delay in paying off the debt, the interest is 0.33% per day, and can reach up to 20%. It is also possible to opt for full payment in cash. In this case, the owner receives a 3% discount on the total tax amount. In case of default, the debtor will have his name entered in the Informative Register of Unpaid Credits of the Sector

The taxpayer will receive notifications about the payment through the Post Office from January 19th. If you do not receive it, you can issue a duplicate of the document on the internet or by calling 156. As a last resort, even appearing at the subprefecture of your region.

If the taxpayer is exempt from paying IPTU, the information will begin to be sent on February 23. In addition, in the case of installment payments, no payment slips will be sent.
