Is there a correct way to raise puppies?

Really, each person has a unique relationship with their pet, but there are attitudes that should be avoided when raising any pet. See some examples below:

1. Your dog is not a furry baby

It's hard to resist those pleading eyes and sticking out tongue, isn't it? Puppies manage to win our hearts without much effort, but that can get in the way of raising them. These pets need their owners to remember that they are not human and have very specific needs of the species.

2. Never abandon or ignore your pet

Dogs are very sociable animals and often become attached to the family. Therefore, it is very important that, when adopting or acquiring a puppy, tutors are responsible for them throughout their lives. This means ensuring the animal is safe in five ways:

  • Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition;
  • Free to express yourself;
  • Free from pain and disease;
  • Free from discomfort;
  • Free from fear and stress.

3. Do not leave your dog in a place with high volume.

Did you know that dogs can hear up to 4 times more than humans? With such keen hearing, it's no surprise that they're bothered by loud volumes. To take care of your pet's health and avoid hearing problems, never place the puppy in a closed place near loud sounds.

4. Never put the dog in territory stress

Dogs usually have a super sharp protective instinct, and may feel threatened in the presence of another pet. If you want to add a new animal to the family, adapt gradually and leave them in separate rooms until they get used to each other.
