Does SBT has been sold? For many years, the Brazilian Television System (SBT) was administered by the businessperson and presenter Silvio Santos.

Founded on August 19, 1981, SBT has become one of the main networks in Brazil. To this day, it broadcasts a diversified program, with emphasis on Mexican telenovelas, journalism and the famous auditorium programs, starting with Silvio Santos' own Program, Domingo Legal and Eliana.

Senor Abravanel, the iconic Silvio Santos, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1930, began his career on Brazilian television as presenter of the program “Vamos Brincar de Forca” on TV Paulista, this same show later became the “Programa Silvio Saints”.

Currently, his businesses are managed by a holding company that bears his name, and his fortune is valued at more than R$ 1.63 billion. This amount is also located in assets of the Jequiti Cosmetics Company, at Sisan Empreendimentos Imobiliários and also at the Jequitimar hotel.

But was SBT sold?

The article on the R7 portal highlights that it was TV Alphaville, based in Santana do Paraíba, that no longer belongs to the family of Silvio Santos and his nephew Guilherme Stoliar. Therefore, we are not talking about the famous SBT broadcaster.

TV Alphaville was sold this year to Brasil TecPar with unanimous approval from the entire Abravanel family. The columnist of the matter says that the negotiation was done in a confidential manner and had only one note released. The TV station Alphaville was being run by the family since 1992.

Patrícia Abravanel continues to replace the father in the traditional program shown on SBT and in charge of some of its businesses. She became one of the broadcaster's partners in 2017, with 55% of the shares.
