The United States Space Agency (NASA) has in fact always been at the forefront of several innovations and technological revolutions. But who knew that these scientists would be interested in something that has long since been discarded by many: the fountain of Youth. According to the FayerWayer portal, this novelty should arrive soon, later this year, and will manage to revolutionize science.

According to rumors, the project is named “Effect of Microgravity on skin aging and health”, after all, aging is closely linked to gravity. So much so that if it weren't for microgravity, skin deterioration would be much slower than it actually is.
Furthermore, NASA is not alone in this mission, as it has the investment of the Colgate-Palmolive company, which helps in manpower and capital. In this way, researchers Joanna Wu and Laurence DuThumm created a 3D model of modified human skin cells. With this, it is hoped that a deeper analysis of the effects of microgravity on our cells will be possible.
In this case, the development of these cells would be done outside the Earth, more precisely on the Space Station International, with the help of four plates with membrane inserts capable of positioning the skin in an interface medium/air. And then, the skin tissue would be able to grow in several layers when it is in orbit during the days scheduled by the scientists.
In this way, the experiments for the fountain of youth hope to contribute to the creation of a valid scientific model capable of evaluating skincare products. And, above all, the project will investigate what would be the difference between the effects of microgravity in space and the effects of it here on Earth.
This can be very useful considering that space travel plans for civilians are going from strength to strength. In this way, who knows, maybe in the future we will actually be able to reverse the order of aging and manage to circumvent the effects of microgravity.
