The vast majority of animals that we know of and that are still on Planet Earth are not here just recently. In fact, many have withstood the challenges of evolution and remained where we find them today.
Others went through evolutionary processes that culminated in new species that still carry some of the prehistoric characteristics. This is the case of sea turtles or else of elephants It is sloths. So popular in our current times, polar bears have been on Planet Earth for about a hundred thousand years. That's what a discovery from 2010 showed, when archaeologists found a polar bear jawbone dating back at least 130 years.
Komodo dragon
The appearance of this animal does not fool us that it is a prehistoric animal. In this case, its origin dates back to Ancient Asia at least 40 million years ago. This extraordinary animal has since migrated across a few continents, making its way to Australia and then settling in Indonesia.
This animal draws a lot of attention for its structure that resembles the figures of the great dragons of Asian mythology. Although they don't breathe fire, they have a toxic and poisonous saliva and can even kill humans.
White rhino
White rhinos are normally divided into northern and southern species. Unfortunately both are endangered, with only a few specimens surviving illegal hunting on the African continent. However, studies show that this species has resisted for a long time on the surface of Planet Earth.

Finally, we have this species native to North America in modern times. However, history shows that their presence on this continent is recent. In general, they have been on Earth for at least 2.5 million years, and also suffer from the possibility of extinction due to illegal hunting.
