The Flora Incognita mobile app lets you detect the species of a plant just by looking at the image. It has a collection of more than 5,000 plants and uses artificial intelligence to recognize the characteristics of a green one.
In addition to offering you the name of the plant, the app also provides some general information about it, such as where you can find it, if it causes poisoning, how to reproduce and care for it.

In addition, users can also add new information about the plants and have access to the complete catalog available through the application.
Flora Incognita is available for iOS and Android operating systems through the Apple Store and Play Store, respectively. So the first step is to access the store on your cell phone and download the app.
Later, open Flora Incognita and register: click on “Create a profile” and provide an email and password, then check the option “I agree with the terms of the data policy” and finish by clicking on “create profile".
The application will take you to the home page and, to identify a plant, look for the “+” icon and click on it. You will now choose the type of greenery you want to find: herbs or shrubs, trees, ferns and grasses.
That done, Flora Incognita will give you instructions – in the right corner of the screen – on how you should take the picture and, when you finish reading, just click on the camera icon.
Position the camera as indicated and tap the white ball at the bottom of the screen to capture the photo. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can take another photo by clicking on “Repeat” or continue with the captured image by selecting “OK”.
The app will then inform you of the name of the identified plant and, by clicking on it, you can access details about it. If you want to add some information about this species just select “Notes” and type your comment.
Another interesting feature of this app is that you can access all the plants you've cataloged, for that, go back to the home screen and click on “List of Species”. There you will see the previously identified species and also their information.
