It serves to reduce the turbulence caused by the wind. Because of its aerodynamics – the shape of airplane wings – the accessory also makes the racing car reach very high speeds. Unlike airplanes, vehicle airfoils face upwards. This causes the air flowing underneath to experience less pressure than the air flowing over the top. The air that flows in the upper part creates an aerodynamic pressure that keeps the vehicle glued to the ground and with greater stability.
