YouTube Premium subscribers have been notified by email that the service will have a price adjustment. The increase already happens in the United States, but the news surprised Brazilians who subscribe to the service.
Previously, North American users were notified of the price change for YouTube Music. The service cost US$ 11.99, but with the readjustment it would have the new value of US$ 13.99.

In Brazil, the increase in YouTube Premiumwas between 11% and 20%. In this scenario, the Student Plan is still the cheapest, costing BRL 13.90 after adjustment. The annual subscription is R$ 40 more expensive.
According to the statement, the platform's intention is to adjust prices to be able to support the work of content creators and continue to improve the Premium plan. Check the new values here!
The notice sent to subscribers clarified that decisions to increase were not made without much consideration from the company.
In any case, they claim that the value upgrade is a way to continue improving their YouTube Premium subscription plans.
Afterwards, the statement warns that the new amounts will be charged from September on all subscriber invoices.
Finally, the e-mail provides a link so that dissatisfied customers can unsubscribe service subscription.
However, the biggest dissatisfaction of users is that this is the second readjustment of the service in less than a year. The Family Plan was increased in October last year with the same justifications as in 2023.

For current subscribers, the service will change pricing on September 17th. But for future ones, the updated table is now available on the official website.

Monthly Student Plan: from R$12.50 to R$13.90;
Individual Monthly Plan: from BRL 20.90 to BRL 24.90;
Monthly Family Plan: from R$34.90 to R$41.90;
Annual Individual Plan: from BRL 209 to BRL 249.
The recurrent increase in YouTube prices has generated discontent among users. For some, the readjustment is justifiable, because of the need to maintain the quality of the service.
