5 steps to plant cinnamon at home

  1. The first step in starting to grow cinnamon at home is selecting quality seeds, either from a reputable source or a garden store;
  2. After selecting the seeds of your choice, it is necessary to prepare the soil where it will be planted. In this way, just choose a substrate rich in organic material and prepare it so that the water drains easily;
  3. Then, in a vase about 15 cm deep, adjust the substrate correctly and plant the cinnamon seeds about 1 cm into the soil. Perform a light first watering, without over-humidifying the site;
  4. After the preparation process, just choose a location with plenty of sunlight, without leaving too much exposure to possible strong winds. It is also necessary to remember to keep the place humid, but without exaggeration so that the roots do not rot;
  5. Finally, just keep the process going by adding fertilizer every 2 months on average. Additionally, it may also be necessary to transplant the cinnamon seedling into a larger pot as it develops.

What is the exact time to harvest cinnamon?

The plant should be ready to start the harvesting process after an average period of 2 to 3 years.

Cinnamon is taken directly from the inner bark of the branches of its parent plant, so it is necessary to carry out the process carefully to obtain the ingredient.

It is enough to peel off the larger branches of the already developed plant and remove this bark for storage.

After removing the bark from the tree, all you have to do is place it to dry directly in the sun for a few days. In this way, you will have cinnamon ready for consumption and for use in your homemade recipes.
