Of questionable quality, EaD grows 474% in a decade

A modality over which, almost always, there is a hint of doubt as to the quality of education offered to the public, Distance Learning, or simply EaD, continues to be the subject of controversy.

The constant questions directed at it, however, have not prevented the exponential growth of adhesions to the alternative, which has already reached a stratospheric 474% in a decade (2011-2021), according to a joint survey by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) and the Ministry of Education (MEC).

Its application is not restricted to a specific level of education, but is present both at the basic, technical, training, undergraduate and graduate levels, among others. Its 'take-off' in the volume of enrollments is related to a series of factors, such as accessibility, given its central characteristic of eliminating physical barriers, through contact virtual, not to mention the flexibility of allowing students to find the most suitable time to dedicate themselves to their studies, according to their needs or availability, personal and professionals.

million mark – A successful example, in this sense, is shown by the National Rural Learning Service (Senar), which reached the mark of 30 million hours attended, in distance training, from 2010 until today. To commemorate the feat, the institution launched, this month, the EaD Senar application, to facilitate access to distance courses aimed at rural areas.

In the opinion of Senar's Director of Professional Education and Social Promotion, Janete Almeida, the result is a reflection of the work carried out, combined with the dedication and commitment of students from all over the country, who sought in Senar the center of knowledge to transform life in the countryside, boosting productivity and innovation in the field. agro.

“With more than 120 course options in various areas of agribusiness, Senar has established itself as a reference in training the sector. All courses offered are online and free, allowing access to people from different regions. There are more than 200 professionals involved in the process, ensuring the quality and relevance of the content offered”, he highlights.

Currently, Senar's EaD portal offers distance courses in 21 training programs, with emphasis on: entrepreneurship and business management; low-carbon agriculture; pasture management; beef cattle; precision agriculture, and quality of life.
