“Doctor with V for Life”. This is the theme of the campaign launched by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV), together with the councils regional categories (CRMVs), for the passage of Veterinary Doctor's Day, celebrated 90 years ago, on the 9th of this month.
For the organizers, the motivation for the celebrations this year is to “reinforce the concept of single health, through the connection between environmental, animal and human health”.

According to studies, veterinarians currently work in more than 80 different areas, such as supervision, inspection of products of origin animal care, clinical care for animals, in addition to teaching and research, totaling approximately 240 thousand of these professionals, of which 182.3 thousand in activity.
Having worked in the area for three years, veterinarian Carlos Vicente, from Goiás, Rio Verde, dedicates himself to the medical clinic for small animals, especially in the hospitalization area. During his early college years, Vicente had the opportunity to work in the public health field, where he specialized in diagnostic imaging, which includes X-rays and ultrasound.
“Don’t be afraid to be curious, to ask questions, and even don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Doing internships during college is also a great way to gain practical experience and learn from professionals who are already in the job market”, adds the young veterinarian.
Gabriel Guerra Albuquerque, also from Goiânia, from Goiânia, pays tribute to the Student Financing Fund (Fies) MEC program that finances higher education for students who obtain better grades in the National High School Exam (And either).
Through the internships available during his degree, Gabriel had access to valuable practices in his training, such as general practice, ophthalmology, general surgery, nephrology, orthopedics, cardiology and dermatology. Today, the veterinary hospital he owns, in the capital of Goiás, is a resort for pets, as well as a hotel and daycare for dogs.
