Now that the Federal Government has completed payments for the PIS/Pasep salary bonus referring to the base year 2021, many workers have been wondering about the benefit for those who worked in 2022.
Although the confirmation is that the payment will take place in 2024, the situation is still subject to change, as the government has not issued an official statement on the regularization of the PIS/Pasep calendar until now.

The Covid-19 pandemic directly interfered with the benefit calendar, leading to the postponement of the PIS/Pasep payment for the base year 2020 to 2022.
This change was necessary due to the government's reallocation of resources to combat the pandemic. The Union had to spend billions to combat the effects of Covid-19.
PIS is paid by Caixa Econômica Federal to private sector workers, while Pasep will be paid by Banco do Brasil to public servants.
Beneficiaries should stay tuned for possible updates and official information about the payment schedule.

The value of the salary bonus is determined by the minimum wage current for the year. For PIS in 2024, the benefit depends on the definition of the minimum wage for the next year, and the expectation is for an increase to R$1,421.00.
Eligibility for PIS/Pasep requires that the worker has been enrolled in the program for at least five years and has formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year considered.
In addition, he must have received a monthly remuneration of up to two minimum wages. Furthermore, it is essential that the data has been correctly reported by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).
The value of the bonus is proportional to the time worked with a formal contract in the base year. Each month worked is equivalent to a benefit of R$101, with periods equal to or greater than 15 days counted as a full month.
This means that the amount paid corresponds to the minimum wage divided by 12 and multiplied by the number of months worked in the base year.
To check eligibility for the 2023 PIS/Pasep, workers can access the official government website, follow the steps indicated and check if you are entitled to the benefit.
The PIS salary bonus can be withdrawn at lottery outlets, Caixa Econômica Federal ATMs or at branches of the financial institution.
To do this, you must present an official document with a photo. If the beneficiary has an account with Caixa, it is also possible to receive the amount via internet banking.
In the case of Pasep, beneficiaries can have credit in their current or savings accounts at Banco do Brasil. If you prefer to receive it at another institution, you can make a transfer via internet banking or ATMs.
