Recently, one of his posts broke records by attracting more than 133 million views in less than a week, highlighting the impact and influence of networks in the contemporary world.

Sometimes on social media, the intentions behind a post can be interpreted in unexpected ways.

O McDonald's Japan experienced this when one of their recent advertisements, originally intended to promote French fries and nuggets, drew a surprising reaction.

The post included a seemingly innocent short anime clip, but some overseas viewers interpreted it differently, which led to the post unexpectedly going viral.

Japanese propaganda sparked debates

The scene depicted in the clip seemed quite simple and innocent. It showed three people sitting around a table in the kitchen, with McDonald's bags on the table.

A box of nuggets and sauce was laid out in front of them. The person on the left picked up a nugget and started eating, while the person on the right handed a fry to a child in the middle.

The joy on the child's face as he tasted the fries brought smiles to everyone's faces. However, when the video was seen by foreigners, some of them did not react with smiles. Instead, they criticized what they perceived as a representation of a typical white family.

Apparently, the company did not shy away from comments on racial issues. While the internet was on fire, the X (formerly Twitter) account shared another art designed by the same artist. Pure climate juice, eh?

At Trezeme Digital, we understand the importance of effective communication. We know that every word matters, which is why we strive to deliver content that is relevant, engaging and personalized to meet your needs.
