Starting in October, a certain group of Bolsa Família beneficiaries will receive a little more when they withdraw the benefit. These are those with children up to six months old.
The extra amount was approved by the National Congress and sanctioned by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in June this year. According to the government, the measure aims to support families in the first months of their babies' lives.

Despite the anxiety of beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família, who were expecting an increase in payment already on the September payroll, the good news ended up being postponed until next month.
This postponement is due to a limitation of the Citizen Benefits System (Sibec), as reported by the government. However, the extra will be transferred in October without fail.
Since the reintroduction of the Bolsa Família program, there have been important changes that aim to provide additional support to beneficiary families.
One of these notable changes is the inclusion of additional payments, with the aim of meeting the specific needs of different groups.
Pregnant women and young people aged 7 to 18 now receive an increase of R$50, which highlights the importance of extra care during pregnancy and adolescence.

Furthermore, one of the most significant changes was the introduction of an additional payment of R$150 for each family with children between 0 and 6 years old.
The increase for babies up to 7 months of age will be made up of the sum of the two benefits mentioned above. In other words, the bonus of R$50 for pregnant women and young people aged 7 to 18, along with an increase of R$150 for children aged 0 to 6.
This combination will result in additional financial support of R$200 for each family member who falls within this age group.
