In this specific cycle, the Agency took the decision to suspend the sale of 38 health insurance, belonging to 10 operators, as a result of complaints registered during the 2nd quarter.
Last Thursday (28), therefore, ANS released the list of health plans that will have sales temporarily suspended due to complaints related to healthcare coverage.
Monitoring is a vital process to ensure that health plan beneficiaries have access to contracted coverage in an efficient and appropriate manner.
This process is conducted quarterly and is based on two main sources of information: complaints registered with the ANS and the number of health plan beneficiaries.
Complaints considered include cases of non-compliance with maximum deadlines for consultations, exams and surgeries, as well as refusals of assistance coverage by operators.
From October 3rd, therefore, the ban will be designed for health plans. The measure will directly affect the sale of 38 health plans from 10 operators, impacting a total of 394,313 beneficiaries.
After the ban, plans can only be offered again to new customers if operators demonstrate improvements in their results in ANS monitoring.
Alexandre Fioranelli, director of Standards and Product Qualification at ANS, highlighted that the measure aims to protect beneficiaries and encourage operators to improve the quality of their services.
The complete list, with all suspended health plans, can be accessed directly viaANS website.
