Germany offers scholarships of R$13,500 per month to Brazilians; apply!

The government of Germany, through Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, provides a unique opportunity for Brazilians who want to improve their studies and contribute to society.

Ten scholarships are available to those selected, allowing them to develop impactful projects for a year in Germany.

Each scholarship offers generous financial assistance of up to 2,600 euros, the equivalent of approximately R$13,500 in current conversion, in addition to other benefits for successful candidates.

The scholarship is aimed at future leaders, offering an exceptional opportunity for Brazilians, allowing them to spend a year in Germany to implement a project that they themselves developed.

The fellowship will provide participants with the chance to establish connections with future international leaders, seeking solutions to contemporary global challenges.

In addition to the scholarship, successful candidates will receive individual support during their stay in Germany and will participate in a course language intensive before the start of the project and will have funding for German courses during the period of handbag.

Prerequisites and documentation

Applications for the Scholarship Program will remain open until October 15th. In addition to the opportunity to study in Germany, those selected will also have the chance to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the end of their stay in the country.

The president of the Brazil-Germany Socio-Cultural Institute, responsible for leading the entire process in Brazil, Thomas Timm, reports that the average number of registrations in the country reaches 150 per year.

Prerequisites

For those interested in applying for one of the scholarships, it is important to be aware of the basic requirements:

• Work in areas such as politics, business, media, administration, society or culture and have demonstrable initial leadership experience;
• Have Brazilian, Indian, Chinese, American or South African citizenship;
• Have completed your first academic degree (bachelor's degree or equivalent) no more than twelve years ago by the reference date of October 1, 2024;
• Demonstration of interest in conducting an independent project with a host of choice in Germany;
• Have a good command of English and/or German, depending on the area of ​​study and research.

These requirements are fundamental to qualify for scholarships and the opportunity to develop impactful projects in Germany, opening doors to personal and professional growth.

Documentation

To participate in the program, you must present the following documents:

• Letter of interest — share what drives you to participate in the program and deepen your knowledge and experience in the project;
• Project plan — in this section, present the project carried out and which the German host agreed to contribute, before submitting the application to the program;
• Extensive statement — this statement requires details about the mentoring agreement in Germany;
• Letters of recommendation — provide two letters of recommendation, both valid for up to one year, from individuals who can provide relevant information about training professional, academic or personal experience.
