The event took place at the Educator Training Center (Cefe), in Santana, which highlighted awareness and raising awareness about Down Syndrome, through practical examples and reflections on the students’ journey at school and in everyday life.
Following the investments received in the areas of technology, modernized units, innovative teaching materials, training of professionals, the municipal education network in the city in the interior of São Paulo offers bimonthly training, such as the meetings of this week.
According to Ana Meire Oliveira Achkar, from Emefi Elza Regina Bevilacqua, “it is very important for all of us to understand our role within the school. This meeting gave us encouragement and courage to continue and always seek new learning. With practice, we understand that each child has their own way of dealing, acting and characteristics.”
Elza adds that “the children are developing, we see that they are able to socialize more and get around better at school. Today, for me, it is essential to work with the students, they are affectionate, I rediscover myself in many things with them”.
Fabíola Almeida Iglesias, from Emefi Alda de Souza Araújo, in turn, points out that “the training helps us in our day-to-day life at school. I leave here with more knowledge to put into practice. We learned a lot about the games and educational materials that were delivered to make learning fun,” she commented.
Working at Emefi Leonor Pereira Nunes Galvão, Danielle Ariane Santos, assesses that “teachers helped to clarify our ideas, think about how to identify situations and seek solutions to problems. Training is important for both our social and professional lives. We started to see everything with a different perspective.”
Finally, Paloma Estefane Silvério do Nascimento, from Emefi Rosa Tomita, highlights that it is “important to understand the student, in which training brings evolution, both professional and personal. I have greatly improved my interactions with children. With each training session, I become more motivated to continue learning and offer the best.”
