In the middle of this vast immensity, we can find the Kuiper Belt, a region of the Solar System that is beyond the orbit of Neptune and extends for a significant distance.
This area is known for housing a large number of small celestial bodies, such as asteroids, and especially trans-Neptunian objects.
It was in the 1950s that astronomer Gerard Kuiper presented the theory about the existence of this belt. Only about 40 years later, this theory was confirmed by succeeding scientists.
In Kuiper's words, he indicated the location of this belt, a region beyond Neptune, in the Solar System, where several celestial objects are found, including Pluto and other bodies trans-Neptunians.
Contemporary theories suggest that Neptune's orbit exerts a significant influence on the asteroid cluster, leading to the formation of celestial bodies called trans-Neptunian objects.

Due to the enormous distance that separates Earth from the Kuiper Belt, estimated at 149,597,871 kilometers, and the tiny size of these celestial objects, the precise determination of the characteristics of these bodies that make up this disc presents itself as a challenge considerable.
It is believed, however, that these asteroids are predominantly composed of elements such as water, ice and ammonia.
Furthermore, it is common knowledge that other bodies in the same region have satellites that surround them and may exhibit characteristics similar to those of dwarf planets.
