A survey carried out by The Wall Street Journal interviewed numerous families in the United States of America (USA) and found that 87% of teenagers confirmed that they prefer iOS. As an example, a 15-year-old girl reported that she prefers the iPhone to stay in line with her group of friends.
On the other hand, this same young woman's brother, who is a year older, revealed that he prefers to use Android on his Motorola One 5G UW. Experts believe that, in general, generation Z understands that Android systems should be used by older generations.
On a global scale, the Statcounter, an analysis site, identified that young people prefer Android. In this scenario, the percentages were presented in a surprising way compared to the US context.
In this case, 71% of teenagers confirmed that they prefer Android. In fact, many of them even confirmed that they have no intention of changing the operating system used for an iPhone.
While iOS is created by Apple, adopting a closed system, Android, developed by Google, stands out for its flexibility, allowing customization by manufacturers of different device models furniture.
Another difference between the two operating systems is that, unlike iPhones, other cell phones tend to have a more permissive policy when it comes to app approval.
Finally, another difference to note is that Google uses resources such as Gmail, Google Photos, Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, among others, all of which are considered popular applications. Meanwhile, iPhones have iCloud, iMessage and Apple Maps, which are more restricted.
