Did you know that the IRS makes DONATIONS of products? Understand!

A IRS holds electronic auctions to dispose of seized or abandoned goods. These auctions can be accessed by anyone, whether natural or legal.

The agency also carries out donations for non-profit organizations, depending on the specific needs of each of them.

This is an important process for dealing with goods that can no longer be returned to their owners or that cannot be sold in any other way.

Federal Revenue Donations

Donations of goods seized by the Federal Revenue Service are intended only for direct public administration bodies, local authorities, public foundations and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The latter are private, non-profit entities that carry out actions of public interest and a social nature.

To request these donations, you must follow a specific procedure.

  1. Prepare a letter in PDF format containing all the information and documents necessary for the request.

  2. Send this letter to email [email protected].

The request can be made by the holder, the legal representative of the OSC or the person responsible for managing material and assets of the interested public body.

When requesting donations of goods seized by the Federal Revenue Service, it is important to include the following information and documents in the letter:

  • Name and corporate name of the public body or Civil Society Organization (CSO);
  • Registration number in the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) of the body or OSC;
  • Full address, telephone number and contact email address.

  • The specific purpose of the donation request details the purpose for which the goods will be used.

  • Detailed description and quantification of the requested goods, specifying the type, quantity and any relevant characteristics.

  • Complete identification of the applicant, including name, position and signature.

For Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who wish to request donations of goods seized by the IRS, it is important to include the following additional documents with the request:

  1. CSO Registered Bylaws and all subsequent amendments thereto;
  2. Minutes of election of the current director of the OSC;
  3. Proof of the entity’s operating address;
  4. Declaration from the entity's legal representative, stating that they are aware of the tax and legal obligations related to the goods to be donated;
  5. Certificate of federal tax regularity from OSC;
  6. Certificate of regularity from the Length of Service Guarantee Fund (FGTS) from the CSO;
  7. Clearance Certificate of Labor Debts (CNDT) from the OSC.

After sending the request with all the necessary documents, the process of donating goods by the Federal Revenue Service will begin.

You can monitor the progress of this process through the portal e-CAC or via the e-Processo app, available for Android and iOS devices.
