Under the theme “National Education Plan 2024-2034: State policy to guarantee education as a human right with social justice and sustainable socio-environmental development” the national stage of the 2024 edition of the National Education Conference (Conae) should take place between the 28th and 30th of January next year, at the Darcy Ribeiro Campus, of the University of Brasília (UnB), in Brasília (DF).
According to Ordinance No. 1,930 – published this Monday (23) by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) – it will be up to states and municipalities provide information to the National Education Forum (FNE) regarding the implementation and results collected from their respective conferences. If the conference takes place outside the deadline established by the standard, administrative entities will have to provide justification, as it is an exceptional situation.

The role of articulation and coordination of Conae 2024 will be the responsibility of the FNE, with technical and administrative department of the Intersectoral Coordination Secretariat and with the Education Systems (Sase) of the MEC, articulate and coordinate Conae 2024.

After being prepared by the FNE, the General Regulations of Conae 2024 will be submitted for approval at the opening plenary of the Conference. Furthermore, the Fund will have to forward the Conae 2024 Final Document to the Office of the Minister of Education within 15 days after its closure.
With regard to the number of delegates and participants in the national stage of Conae 2024 and their distribution by unit federative, teaching levels and educational segments, these will be defined by its General Regulations, which will also define the respective form of choice.
The results of Conae 2024 may contribute to the preparation of the new PNE 2024-2034, with a view to debating and evaluating the problems and educational needs of the current Plan. Through the effective contribution of educational segments and social sectors, it will be possible present proposals for guidelines, objectives, goals and strategies for the next decade of education in the country.
Such results, in turn, will serve for subsequent articulation with the ten-year education plans in the states, in the Federal District and municipalities, in order to strengthen democratic management, collaboration and cooperation federative. From this perspective, tackling inequalities will be reinforced, with the aim of guaranteeing educational rights.
