Hurricane hits the 'Chaves hotel in Acapulco', in Mexico; check out images

The Hotel Emporio, which became famous for being the setting for episodes of Chaves in Acapulco in 1977, suffered significant damage due to the passage of hurricane Otis last Wednesday (25).

With winds at speeds of up to 270 km/h, causing destruction throughout the city of Acapulco, the phenomenon reached the maximum category on the scale: level 5. The city was left without electricity, telephone service and internet access.

After confirming the damage to the hotel, fans of the Chaves series shared memories and images of the episodes staged there, representative of how they marked many people's childhoods.

Chaves' vacation, recorded in 1977, remains iconic due to its external locations and continues to captivate viewers even after more than 45 years.

While most of the scenes in the series were recorded in the studio, representing the village of residents, Dona Florinda's restaurant and Professor Girafales, the episodes in Acapulco won a special place in the hearts of fans and made the hotel a tourist attraction in the region, attracting visitors from all over the world. world.

According to information from Luces del Siglo magazine, part of the building's facade collapsed onto parked vehicles.

Raymundo Ceja was one of the guests who shared images of the place on his Instagram profile. Thus, he also took the opportunity to reassure friends and family after the incident.
