'Highlight Video': Google Photos gains new AI tool capable of creating videos

Google Photos announced a new tool for creating videos, “Highlight Video”. This functionality replaces the old memory creator and offers more customization options for choosing library files in the Android and iOS.

Creating memory videos

“Highlight Video” uses the Artificial intelligence (AI) to offer photo and video suggestions, making the process of creating highlight videos even easier.

To create the content, simply select the desired people, locations and dates, while the application creates the result automatically.

When finished, you can make manual adjustments and even change the background music, giving the video a personal touch. This new function replaces the platform's old AI generator, which had more limited resources.

In the previous version, it was possible to choose between some models provided by Google Photos or select each file individually.

With “Highlight Video”, the process is streamlined and each person’s demands are met with more ease and personalization.

With this update, Google Photos seeks to gain space in the market dominated by editing tools, such as CapCut, responsible for several trends on TikTok and Instagram.

It's common to find videos about travel or important moments on social media, and Google Photos aims to offer an alternative to creating content for these platforms.

Limited distribution

Google confirmed the launch of the tool this week, however, it may take some time for it to be available on all cell phones. There is still no confirmation about the arrival of this functionality in Brazil, for example.

In addition to “Highlight Video”, Google Photos is also developing an option to group similar photos, which can make organizing your image library even easier.

This change demonstrates the company's commitment to offering advanced features to users, making the user experience increasingly intuitive and personalized.

With “Highlight Video”, it is possible to create videos of the best moments simply and quickly, with the help of AI to obtain surprising results.
