NAME:
Read:
“Sweet life of a bee” tells the story of bees during a year, from spring to spring. A simple text, showing the different stages of collecting nectar and making honey, but with the cadence of a chant of vibrant phrases, reflecting the frantic/agitated and incessant rhythm of the activity of the hive. Isabelle Arsenault used a combination of ink, gouache, graphite and colored pencils to create frenetic and joyful illustrations. The landscapes – represented in an impressionistic style – contrast with drawings that recall the aesthetics of stories in comics: bees with big eyes and smiling faces, but with a thin nose that looks like ____ stingers that hide in the abdomen.
