Everyone likes to spend a day having fun at water parks, right? They are an attraction in every corner of the world. After all, there's no way to resist giant slides, poolsnature, good walks and a super refreshing day with the family.
Data from Theme Index gathered which were the most visited water parks around the world in 2022. The report was released by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), an international non-profit association representing the themed entertainment sector.

The news is that, this time, two Brazilian parks appeared on the list: one in Rio Quente (GO) and the other in Olímpia (SP).
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (Lake Buena Vista, USA)
You can't beat Disney, right? Typhoon Lagoon welcomed almost 2 million people in 2022. Among the attractions are the Surf Pool, the largest wave pool in North America, according to Disney, the Ketchakiddee Creek area with 10 children's activities, and the Crush 'n' Gusher waterslide, with 120 meters of extension.
Universal’s Volcano Bay (Orlando, USA)
Volcano Bay welcomed 1.85 million people last year. Tourists seek out the park because at its heart is the 60-meter-high Krakatau volcano, which releases water from its waterfalls. There is also the Ohyah waterslide and Maku Puihi tunnels. In total, there are more than 60 fun options for the whole family
Aquaventure Water Park (Bahamas)
The Aquaventure Water Park in the Bahamas is 510 m² of fun. There are 20 swimming areas, 11 pools, water slides, rapids and 8 km of white sand beaches. Entry is free for Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas guests, but outsiders can purchase a day pass.
Thermas dos Laranjais (Olímpia, Brazil)
First venture on the list. In 2022, Thermas dos Laranjais received around 1.729 million tourists. This places it as the most visited water park in South America. There are 55 attractions, including extreme rides such as the Water Roller Coaster and the Legendary – a water slide with five lanes, two with buoys and three with capsules, which can reach 70 km/h.
Therme Erding (Erding, Germany)
The Therme Erding website claims that this park has the largest thermal bath in the world. There are 2,850 meters of water slides, with 28 entrances and three levels of difficulty. There is also a spa and 24 saunas. In total, there are around 150 for tourists of all ages.
Chimelong Waterpark (Guangzhou, China)
More than 1.67 million people have visited this Chinese water park, which opened in 2007. There are three main attractions in the development: the BehemothBOWL 60, the Tornado 60 and the Kids Tornado 24.
Aquatica (Orlando, USA)
Another one from Orlando! Aquatica offers a huge variety of water slides – one almost 20 meters high and another with an incredible 76 meter high drop. In addition, there are attractions where bathers can surf and white sand beaches. A paradise!
Aquaventure (Dubai, United Arab Emirates)
More than 1.5 million people have passed through Aquaventure Dubailast year. There are more than 10 water slides and 2.3 km of artificial rivers – which can be crossed on buoys. Plus, 700 meters of private white sand beach.
Hot Park Rio Quente (Rio Quente, Brazil)
This is one of the most popular water parks in all of Brazil, located in the heart of the country, in Goiás, with its 55 km² of structure. More than 1.43 million people passed by and had fun in the 30 pool interactions, more than 20 attractions and Acqua Race, a giant waterslide with drops of up to 110 meters and a speed of 30 km/h.
Aquapalace (Prague, Czech Republic)
This is the largest water park in the Czech Republic and welcomed 1.2 million visitors from around the world last year. There, tourists can find everything: waters with mild temperatures, swimming pools that replicate sea waters, hot tubs, water slides and water palaces.
