It was the English who popularized the Christmas tree. They came into contact with the tradition around 1850. When Prince Albert ____ married Queen Victoria, she began to set up majestic trees in her holiday home on the Isle of Wight (England). The population began to imitate them. Today, the most popular Christmas tree in the country is the one set up in Trafalgar Square, London. It has been donated every year since 1947 by Norway in recognition of England's help to its people during World War II.
