SECRET trick with baking soda to get rid of mold

Combating humidity at home is essential to maintaining a healthy and welcoming environment. Signs of damp are an invitation to problems ranging from olfactory discomfort to health issues, not to mention damage to our furniture and structures.

Humidity is not an ingredient we want in our home sweet home recipe. It can be invasive, compromising the structure of the house and our health. Fortunately, with proper care and some practical measures, we can mitigate the undesirable effects of humidity.

Humidity at home? Clean mold instantly

When you see it forming unwanted designs on the walls, it's time to take action. A loofah, water and soap can be your best friends in this mission, eliminating mold before it spreads.

Furthermore, for the most resistant molds, the slime remover can be effective, but be careful: it can fade the paint, like bleach does to the fabric.

Use bicarbonate to your advantage

It's not just in the kitchen that sodium bicarbonate stands out, but also in combating humidity. In other words, it is like the yeast in a dough, which discreetly does its work and transforms the result.

Place it in a small container and distribute them around the house, in strategic locations where there is no heavy traffic, such as under closets or beds. If you notice that the bicarbonate has formed lumps, like when salt absorbs moisture, it is a sign that it has done its job and is time to be replaced.

Distance from walls when there is humidity in the house

We need to make room for furniture during humid seasons. Therefore, keeping them at least five centimeters away from the walls allows air to circulate, preventing humidity from affecting them.

This way, if there is moisture on the walls, your furniture will not suffer the consequences, remaining protected and preserved.
