Surprisingly, the victim of this ruse is businesswoman Gizele Mendes, represented in the images generated by AI, moving her lips and even speaking.
The convincing-looking video encouraged followers to participate in Pix's virtual pyramid, with Gizele's image confirming that she had made a profit through the platform.
Tragically, three of Gizele's contacts believed in the authenticity of the content and ended up making money transfers, with amounts ranging between R$300 and R$1,000.
Gizele uses her social networks mainly to promote her restaurant's menu. On an ordinary day, when trying to log into her app account, she found herself unable to do so.
Regarding this, she explained that, at first, she thought it was just an error on the page. When she saw the incorrect password message, she went about her ordinary day at work.
After a while, her friend called her to confirm whether the scheme was true. This friend in particular saw something strange, because as we mentioned, Gizele only uses social media for professional purposes.

When her friend told her about the proposal that was on Gizele's profile, in the form of a video, using the entrepreneur's image, she was surprised.
Then, three people got in touch stating that they had carried out the financial transaction requested by the criminals.
Amid despair, she had to break the sad news that her acquaintances had fallen for a sophisticated scam that made use of Artificial Intelligence.
Faced with this distressing situation, the businesswoman sought the help of a cybersecurity specialist to recover her account and filed a police report.
Finally, the police are currently investigating crimes of misrepresentation and embezzlement. As of October 24, none of those involved had been identified, and the victims have still not been able to recover the lost money.
