Delays in payments of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus have their roots in the Covid-19 pandemic, which required the reallocation of resources by the federal government.
This resulted in the postponement of the base year 2020 bonus, which was only paid in 2022. Following this reprogramming, the bonus for the base year 2021, which would normally be released in 2022, only began to be paid in February 2023.

Now, workers who contributed in 2022 can wait for their salary bonus in 2024, according to current indications. However, it is crucial to stay informed about possible changes to this calendar, as adjustments may still occur.
The federal government has not yet communicated plans to completely regularize the payment schedule.
PIS will be administered by Caixa Econômica Federal for private sector employees, while Banco do Brasil will manage Pasep payment for public employees.
Both banking institutions will be responsible for updating and providing information on payment schedules as they become available.
To be eligible for the bonus, workers must be registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years and have worked formally for at least 30 days in the base year, receiving on average up to two minimum wages per month.
It is essential that employers have provided the information correctly in the Annual Social Information Report (Rais).
Employees can check their eligibility for the bonus through the official government website or through the Digital Work Card application. Additionally, the Alô Trabalhador call center, at number 158, is available to provide assistance.
The value of the bonus is proportional to the time worked. The calculation is made by dividing the current minimum wage by 12 and multiplying by the number of months worked in the base year. Those who worked all year will receive the equivalent of a minimum wage.
To consult the salary bonus online, employees must access the government website, enter with your Gov.br credentials, and check if you are qualified to receive the bonus for the year in question.
Employees with a Citizen Card can withdraw their benefit at lottery outlets, ATMs or directly at Caixa branches. Customers with Caixa accounts can also make withdrawals through Internet Banking.
Pasep beneficiaries can receive their funds directly into their Banco do Brasil accounts. If they wish, they can also transfer the amount to other financial institutions, following the procedures on the BB website or via the bank's ATMs.
