1 – Disconnecting is the first step

Before anything else, unplug the TV. This will ensure that you can clean the screen without the risk of electrical shock and will also prevent the hot screen from attracting more dust.

Furthermore, with the TV off, it is easier to see dirt and stains that need to be cleaned.

2 – Avoid chemicals

When it comes to cleaning, it can be tempting to use that cleanser that promises to work wonders. However, for your TV screen, less is more.

Chemicals, including alcohol, can be very harsh on delicate LCD or LED screens, potentially causing damage that is expensive to repair. So leave them aside.

3 – Patience is a virtue: wait for it to cool down

If you have just turned off the TV, give it time to cool down. Cleaning the screen while it's still hot can not only increase the risk of damage, but it can also cause dirt to stick even tighter, making the job even more arduous.

4 – Choosing the cloth

The cloth you use to clean your TV can make a big difference. Choose a microfiber or very soft cotton cloth.

These fabrics are designed not to scratch the screen and remove dust particles easily. Make sure the cloth is clean and dry before using it.

5 – Controlled humidification

If you find persistent marks after removing the dust, you can lightly dampen the cloth. Do this with extreme care, wringing out the cloth to remove excess water, as liquid should never drip onto the screen.

Remember, water should be used sparingly and never directly on the screen.

6 – Cleaning technique

The technique with which you clean the screen is also important. Use gentle, circular movements to clean the screen, avoiding applying too much pressure. Excessive pressure can damage the screen's pixels, which can result in dead or damaged areas on your TV.

Additional care

As a bonus, here are some reminders: never use paper towels or rough cloths, which can scratch the screen. Also, avoid spraying any liquid directly onto the screen as this may cause irreparable damage.

By following these guidelines, you will keep your TV screen clean and clear, improving image quality and extending the life of the device.

A little attention and care can ensure that your television remains a high-quality portal of entertainment and information for years to come.
